The ecological crisis is an economic crisis.
We will never be able to create an economy that protects and regenerates natural habitats, biodiversity, and our communities as long as corporations exist primarily to generate profits.
Ecological and social crises are intertwined.
The pursuit of profit destroys both nature and our communities, as well as the bonds that unite us.
It pushes wages down while driving prices up; it fuels the exploitation of countries in the Global South; it fans the flames of wars over resource control; and it also breeds a blatant disregard for the rights of women and minorities, all in the name of sustaining a cheap labor force.
We trust in workers.
We build democratic spaces and, with the help of independent researchers, we support workplaces in creating an egalitarian, just, and regenerative vision for the future.
We invest in our union democracies.
Our union assemblies are spaces where we can stand up for our ideas and debate with our colleagues.
We use these democratic spaces to ensure that the immense resources of the movement are directed toward defending the common good.
We are building alliances.
Tomorrow’s world is shaped by every union negotiation, every electoral campaign, every demonstration, and every direct action.
We develop partnerships and encourage our members to join forces with our allies, in order to build joint strategies that harness the complementary strengths of our movements and their modes of action.
